FLOW | John Ensor Parker
Site-specific design commissioned by the Downtown Louisville Arena Authority in 2010, to be located in the new Arena situated on the banks of the Ohio River. The design is an Energy Mural that expresses the river in real-time using light and movement.
The flow rate, volume, temperature and the surface condition of the river are measured at a data collection station located in the river adjacent to the Arena. Measured data is interpreted and expressed with computer software and an output system consisting of individually addressable RGB LED and a light diffusing polycarbonate shield.
